After a visiting team forfeited their first home game because of their dirt field, the local government relented and let them play their remaining 3 home games on the new turf field next door. The team arrives three hours early to home games to turn the soccer field into a football field. "It is very hard to get organizational help here; even to get a field it was impossible," said quarterback David Siso. The Black Towers are the only American football team in Northwest Spain. They played their first competitive season last year in the Portuguese league and hope their sport will catch on in the region.

They finished the year 5-4 and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Oporto Lumberjacks.
