| Image © 2010 Will Nunnally Photography || (A Coruña, Spain - November 22, 2009) - The Galicia Black Towers catch some shut eye after leaving A Coruña at 4 a.m. Sunday morning to travel 6 hours south to Lisbon to play the Lisbon Navigators for their first game. The Navigators formed the league after being kicked out of the Spanish football league and are heavily favored to win it because their roster includes many Americans from a nearby Navy base. By contrast 18 of the 23 members of the Black Towers are playing their first football game today.
The Black Towers are the only American football team in Northwest Spain. They played their first competitive season last year in the Portuguese league and hope their sport will catch on in the region. |

I followed the Galicia Black Towers, an American football team in northwest Spain, for their first competitive season in the Liga Portuguesa.
