| Image © 2010 Will Nunnally Photography || (A Coruña, Spain - February 8, 2009) - The Galician Black Towers play street football instead of watch The Who perform at halftime of Super Bowl XLIV. The team gathered early on Super Bowl Monday (kick-off is at midnight in Spain) with friends to watch the game at a local bar in A Coruña. One or two NFL games are televised weekly on cable in Spain, though, with the exception of watching the Super Bowl, most players' only exposure to the game is the video game "Madden."
The Black Towers are the only American football team in Northwest Spain. They played their first competitive season last year in the Portuguese league and hope their sport will catch on in the region. |

I followed the Galicia Black Towers, an American football team in northwest Spain, for their first competitive season in the Liga Portuguesa. They finished the year 5-4 and lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Oporto Lumberjacks. You can view the audio slideshow at: http://www.willnunnallyphotography.com/multimedia/bt/index.html.
