Grandpa was an SC Tailback
Larry Markowitz was a USC Trojan running back from 1950-1954, served the US Army Air Corp from 1951-1952, then suffered a severe knee injury in 1953. His SS shooter son Barry was born while Larry was in the middle of a game vs. Cal at Berkeley. Barry's 21st birthday was celebrated while playing for UCLA at Cal, Berkeley.
