The new SportsShooter polo shirts are available in black and grey.
It all started as a harmless thread on the SportsShooter.com message board way back on February 22, 2003.

The thread, entitled: "Sports Shooter Polo Shirt" drew lots of interest. So much so that it spawned a second thread entitled: "Polo shirts part II" on March 19, 2003.

We kept reading comments from the members clamoring for new SportsShooter gear. They were very hard to ignore.

Here is a little sampling of what was being said in the message boards several months ago:

Jay Langsner from Lloyd, Alberta said this: "The minute they are available I'll buy one or two. Polo shirts are about all I ever wear...Well... I do wear pants as well."

Then there was Howard Curtis Smith of Baldwin, New York, who uttered these words: "I like the idea of a polo shirt myself. I have never worn a t-shirt on the job, even in mid summer."

Never to be out voiced in the message board, young and impressionable Max Morse from Santa Barbara, California chimed in this way: "black or grey would be pretty slick."

Our good friend Les Stukenberg from Prescott, Arizona was pretty excited too: "I'll chime in here and say I'll get two as well."

This went on for days and days. We knew we had to do something. Well, actually, we don't have to do anything we don't want to around here. Yet, we decided to keep reading the posts and thought that maybe, just maybe, we might do something. Eventually.

The posts kept coming.

Michael Troutman from Carmel, California came in with these words: "Black for sure, and I'll take two please."

Then we even got some specific requests like this one from Jeff Stanton in Tucson, Arizona: "It would be nice if those garments were available in XXXL sizes for us fuller dimension folks. Plus it's good insurance on time shrinkage. Just a thought."

Joy Absalon of Centreville, Virginia didn't want to be left out either: "Polo shirts would be great. I'd buy one or two as well."

Representing the South came David Stout from Jonesboro, Arkansas: "I'll throw in an order for a gray one with a red logo in XL when (if) they are available."

Representing the vagabond Montreal Expos we even had Ed Wolfstein from Burlington, Vermont come in: "Black baby! I'll take 2!"

Mark Erickson from South Saint Paul, Minnesota had this to say: "My color choice would gray... 18% gray."

Not to be out done, Kevin M. Cox from San Marcos, Texas followed up with this post: "I like Mark's suggestion of 18% gray! I'll take one in black and one in gray."

Well, you get the idea. We have answered your prayers. Your hopes. Your dreams. We have even answered Jeff Stanton's request.

Joe Gosen and Grover Sanschagrin model the grey polo shirts and eat some left over pizza after the SportsShooter.com One Year Anniversary Party in Albany, Calif. on June 21, 2003.
Now available for the first time ever...the official SportsShooter Polo Shirts, available in black and grey ranging in size from medium to XXXL.

These shirts are available immediately in Our Store on the SportsShooter.com website for $45 each, including sales tax and shipping. These babies are a limited edition and will run out pretty quickly, so I wouldn't delay your purchase. Remember what happened to the bucket hats? You don't want to miss your chance to own one of these polos.

Here at SportsShooter.com we are lucky to have some friends in pretty high places that help us out from time to time and one of those cool people is Rich Pilling from Major League Baseball Photos. Upon hearing that we wanted to have some REALLY nice polo shirts made, Rich so graciously hooked us up with Kristi, his contact at Majestic Athletic. Majestic is the official uniform supplier for 15 Major League Baseball teams. They have also supplied Pilling with some very nice polo shirts every year for his MLB Photos crew at the All-Star Game and World Series.

So, thanks to Pilling we were able to have our new polo shirts made by the same people who make the Big League uniforms for the Oakland Athletics, Philadelphia Phillies and thirteen other Major League clubs.

SportsShooter.com Store Manager Joe Gosen is pretty happy to be sitting on all this cool new inventory. "The new shirts are neatly folded on the store shelves where the popular bucket hats used to reside. My promise is to get these hot items in the mail as soon as it is convenient for me to do so," Gosen said.

San Francsico Giants team photographer Andy Kuno is pretty excited about receiving a black SportsShooter polo shirt for his birthday at the Miraloma Club in San Francisco.
We have listened. We have also covered our ears at some of the other requests that we don't feel that we will be able to respond to at this time.

We think we will pass on the suggestion from young Sean Connelley of Oakland, California who asked this question in the message boards on March 20, 2003: "how bout some SS speedos for those long hours I spend on beaches of the French Rivera perfecting my tan for the start of the 2003 baseball season?"

So, now it's time to put your money where your mouth was back in the Spring. I will look forward to receiving orders for the black and grey polo shirts very soon from Jay, Howard, (not Max as he has been test driving two polo's for a month now), Les, Michael, Jeff (we got big sizes as requested), Joy, David, Mark and Kevin.

You never know what we'll come up with next and you never know when the polo's will run out. There will be a sad day very soon, probably a bright, sunshiny day in beautiful Santa Barbara, when Gosen will wander over to the Store and find that the polo shirts are all gone.

Order yours today.
