SportsShooter.com member Chris Covatta featured on cover of 'Studio Photography & Design' magazine

Austin based SportsShooter.com member Chris Covatta is featured on the cover of the new issue of 'Studio Photography & Design' magazine.

Covatta, who has worked everywhere from the smallest daily newspaper in Kentucky to the Orange County Register to The National Sports Daily is now freelancing in Austin and enjoying good BBQ all over the state.

A few months ago SP&D Editor Alice B. Miller was looking for a sports shooter to feature on the cover of her magazine when she dropped by SportsShooter.com looking for the perfect subject. In the cover story Covatta advises that photographers get their name out there on the Internet. "You need to be listed on the various search engines and organizational site...Another valuable resource for sports photographers is the new web-based company SportsShooter.com," says Covatta.

It's a long and lonely road uphill becoming a successful freelancer in today's tough market, but since working for Neil Leifer at The National 11 years ago Covatta has built a successful client base that includes The Upper Deck Company, NBA Entertainment, NFL Properties, Sports Illustrated, ESPN The Magazine, Athlon Sports and Day/Forbes Advertising to name just a few.

However, the best job in the world right now for the owner of Covatta Photography is being a father for the first time to his 8 1/2 month old daughter Catarina.

Being featured on the cover of SP&D would have never happened if Covatta wasn't a member at SportsShooter.com, which just goes to prove that Joaquin Andujar was right when he uttered the famous words, "Ya never know."
