NBA Hoop Shots: Classic Moments from a Super Era is a book of photographs by Andy Bernstein.

Lead NBA photographer Andy Bernstein will make a rare public appearance - with photographs - this Wednesday night, October 16 in Victoria Hall in downtown Santa Barbara.
This is part of the on-going Wednesday night series presented by the Brooks Institute of Photography visual journalism program. While the presentations technically are part of a class, visiting photographers, interested students and curious amateurs interested in photojournalism are welcome to attend, space permitting. The evenings are designed as a chance for photographers to meet, socialize and share ideas around an educational presentation.
Bernstein, based in Los Angeles, regularly covers the Los Angeles Lakers and the women's franchise of the WNBA among other assignments for the league. He regularly covers the NBA All-Star game, NBA Finals and has photographed the Dream Teams since 1992. Previously he was the Los Angeles Dodgers team photographer.

Recent speakers on the Brooks Wednesday night venue have included NPPA Newspaper Photographer of the Year Carolyn Cole from the Los Angeles Times, Contra Costa Times staff photographer Karl Mondon, San Francisco Giants team photographer Martha Jane Stanton, Southern California-based freelancer Rick Rickman and Newsweek photographer P.F. Bentley who will join the faculty of Brooks Institute in January, 2003.
In an expansion of the speaker program, Brooks Institute has recently entered into a partnership with UC-Santa Barbara to bring National Geographic photographers to the community. The first such program will be by Steve McCurry on Monday, November 4 in the UCSB Campbell Hall.
McCurry is perhaps best known for the picture he took years ago of an Afghan girl, someone McCurry was recently able to find and photograph again as an adult.
Tickets for McCurry's UCSB presentation are available from the campus Arts and Lectures office at 805-893-3535.
The presentation by Bernstein at Victoria Hall is free. The building is located at 33 W. Victoria Street in downtown Santa Barbara, one-half block off of State Street.
