'Educate Yourself': A new section within SportsShooter.com
Brooks Institute of Photography teams up with SportsShooter.com to create a new section

Thanks to the suggestions made by a few of our student-members, SportsShooter.com now has a new section that focuses on learning. "Educate Yourself" is an area for high school and college students, as well as working professionals looking to expand and enhance their skills in a variety of ways.

This new section is sponsored by Brooks Institute of Photography. SportsShooter.com and Brooks have entered into a partnership which will keep this area filled with new educational content.

New features and functions of this section include:

== The 5 most recent STUDENT updates. These are displayed on the front of this section, just like we do on the front page for everyone. Now student member page updates will have a longer 'shelf life'.

== We created the SportsShooter Bookshelf that contains some seriously cool books. Members have the opportunity to comment about and rate/rank books that are significant to the photojournalism community. The list of books on the 'bookshelf' will be ever-expanding, so if you have a suggestion for a book to add to the list, please let us know. (And if you are a member who's written/published a book on your own, we REALLY want to know that.)

== Workshop Profiles! Let's face it - there are a lot of photography workshops out there in the world, and they all sound so great, don't they? This is an area we hope sets the record straight - which workshops are good - which are, well, uh, 'not so good.' With this area, now the SportsShooter.com members can rate, rank, and comment - and YOU can decide.

== Stories that are Student-related. We flagged all of the 'education-related' content going back to the very beginning of the Sports Shooter newsletter and display it in the section's main page. The content plan for this area is huge - so check it often.

Additional features and functions are planned for this area in the coming weeks and months.

So please check out the new section - let us know what you think. Rate a book or two. Rate a workshop, or two. Or three.

To access this section, choose the "Educate Yourself" link in the site navigation rail (over there on the left.)
