Rose Bowl Proposal
Jack Gruber surprised long-time girlfriend Amy Kinsella by proposing to her at mid-field at the Rose Bowl after Miami had wrapped up the College National Championship by beating Nebraska.
Under the pretense of shooting a "team photo" at the conclusion of the game, the pair went out to mid-field with their fellow USA TODAY staffers. After chasing a television crew off the Rose Bowl logo, Jack dropped to a knee and "pop the question."
After several tense seconds, Jack heard the magic words "yes".
Jack is a staff photographer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Amy is a picture editor at USA TODAY's headquarters in McLean, VA.
