Canon Professional Services has announced equipment modifications for CPS members
All modifications are being done at the Canon Factory Service Centers

AF Stop Button Position Change
The AF stop button barrel on the below listed lenses can be rotated plus or minus 10%. This enables us to reposition all four stop buttons to a new position comfortable to the user. (NOTE: Buttons cannot be moved independently from each other.)

Custom Function 19 on the EOS 3 for EF300/400/500/600 LIS Lenses: The ultra telephoto L-series EF lenses, launched in early July 1999, have a new function called "AF Stop" withfour "AF Stop" buttons on the lens. The EOS 3 can use these new AF Stop buttons for other functions by setting CF19 (custom function). CF19 is, however, not established when the camera is shipped from the factory, so the setting must be done at service facilities.

Custom Function 19 Details:
CF19-0...By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will stop the AF drive. CF19-1...By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will activate the AF drive.
CF19-2...By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will activate AE lock. CF19-3...By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will activate a change in focusing point selection, I.E., you can switch to manual or auto or eye control. CF19-4...By hitting the AF stop button on the lens you will be able to select the AF mode by changing from one-shot AF to AI servo or vise-versa.
