By Brian Nicholson, UNPA contest chair

Once again, Utah SportsShooter.com members take home awards in the Utah News Photographers Association (UNPA) 2003 photo contest. This year's contest was entered by a humble group of 29 photographers from six newspapers and one major college. We had 1001 photos submitted in twelve different categories and now the winners have finally emerged.

But enough about us... The 2003 photo contest was also judged by many talented and well respected photojournalists which are members of this site.

In it's fourth year, the UNPA contest has now attracted more and more interest and continues to solicit the help of the absolute best talent in the business to critique its work. Of the twelve categories, eight were judged by SportsShooter.com members and there has been a growing numbers of awards taken home by SportsShooter.com members.

Of the contest, Best Of Show category judge Jack Gruber of USA Today wrote, "Just wanted to thank you for letting me look at the entire selection of winning entries. It was really a incredible collection of work from a single state organization. I know there is tremendous talent in Utah but getting to see the work all compiled is really wonderful. "

The following is a list of the judges for the 2003 contest:
