->> I recently snagged a used D1X and am having trouble after uploading through Nikon View 6. All of my files are coming in out of order... like this:
DSC_001.jpg, DSC_0011.jpg, DSC_0012.jpg, DSC_0013.jpg, DSC_0014.jpg, DSC_0015, DSC_0016, DSC_0017, DSC_0018, DSC_0019, DSC_002, DSC_0020.... etc...
It's like it does everything with two zeros in front. Instead of going DSC_009.jpg, DSC_010.jpg, DSC_011.jpg and so on. Anyone had anything similar happen? |

->> I use the option in View 6 that renames the files as the time they were made. This simplifies a lot of things, but it does make for long, awkward filenames.

->> Okay... good idea, at least it sorts them in the right order, then you can go back AFTER that and give them a simple file name, right?

->> There are several utilites out there to do a batch rename. Irfan View is what I use in Windows. I don't know what a good program would be for Mac.

->> Photo Mechanic can rename with variables and lots of options on Mac and Windows.

->> Yeah, the "By time taken" is probably my best option. Do you have to do that upon upload? I couldn't find it in "Rename Automatically" in NV6.
