Photoshop CS Flag/"Copy" to folder without changing photo

->> Hi.
New user of Photoshop here...starting with CS. I attended Reed Hoffman's excellent Luau breakout last year. Came home psyched that Photo Mechanic would run on a PC. Unfortunately I had an old Dell running 98. Now I got a new Dell and a new Thinkpad with CS.
While I know Photo Mechanic is an excellent program, having paid $1000+ for CS, I'd like it to do the following with CS:
I flag the photos, filter to show only flagged images, select all. So far so good. Now, I want to copy all my "flagged" photos "unedited" to a new folder. So, the end result is I'll have the originals downloaded from a card in a batch. A new folder with my initial flagged images untouched ready to edit.
I've never used actions before and I know I can create a web gallery on only flagged images. First, if I use the batch "Save As", if the action doesn't "act" on the photo, I won't lose any pixel info, right?
If I'm on the wrong (or right) track, let me know either way. Cuz I'm stuck with what I need to do as it is. (I remember the days when software came with manuals. Still haven't adjusted yet. I've done a bit of searching in the online help, but unsure.)
On a related note, is the ability to flag files new to CS? I subscribe to a programming/tech reference online service that has some photoshop books on it to browse, but no CS books yet. safari.oreilly.com
Thanks.
Jim
p.s. If I batch caption, that process won't affect the photo itself either, right? |

->> Alright, got it figured out. It's probably been this way "forever".
To COPY, select image(s), press and hold Alt and drag images to new folder. (On Mac, instead of Alt, press Option key instead as you drag to new folder.)
To MOVE, select image(s) and drag. (Without pressing Alt or Option key.)
Still interested in feedback on whether batch captioning/other non-photo related actions affect image quality please.
Thanks.

->> Copying just move the 1s and 0s to a new location. It's a basic computer operation that treats a text file identically to an image.
Non of the other operations that you mentioned affect the image in a ny way.
