->> Just loaded Photoshop CS onto both my G4 destop running OSX 10.3.2 and on my laptop running OSX 10.2.8 . Love Photoshop CS, its the bomb. Having trouble with Photo Mechanics not wanting to launch photoshop CS, it will when you select one image, but if you select more than one its spins its wheels. Has anybody else tryed this and if so are you having the same problems?
Cheers,
Neil |

| ->> I'm having the same problem, Neil. Have given up on Photo Mechanic for now. They were suppose to have version 4 for Mac on 1/1/04 but that did not happen. |

->> Neil, I can select multiple photos, but launching from Photo Mechanic only opens one of them.
However, i find the new File Browser really handy, and Flagging photos in PS CS is just as easy as Tagging in Photo Mechanic. I still only open one photo at a time though.
Right now, I am using Photo Mechanic only to ingest disks and caption. |

| ->> Yep same problem here and the only way I can get an image into PS from PM is to go to the dock and click on the PS and PM icon alternately and it eventually shows up. |

->> How are you trying to open the images in PM? By double-clicking on the image(s) or by using "Edit Images" in the menu?
I opened 11 photos from PM to PS CS last night with no problem ... modus operandi being this:
(using the menus)
Select tagged images
Edit Images
Dialogue Box: Do you want to edit all the images selected? Yes
PS CS open and images tile
I am at work on a PC right now, but anyone is still having problems, I will double-check that that is how I did it last night (it was late ... about 1:30a when I did it, but I know that it worked). |

->> Thad,
Thanks, but still not working - Photo Mechanics freezes up and clock will not move. Have tryed both ways - double clicking and using the menus. They will open but only when you hide or close photomechanic. Must be some kind of bug between the two softwares.
Cheers,

->> What version of Photo Mechanic are you using? I seem to remember an earlier version not being compatible with CS...the current version is 3.2.7 and upgrades depends on when you purchased your software.
I’m using PM 3.2.7 and Mac OSX 10.3.2 and Photoshop CS without any problems.

->> Also have PM 3.2.7 with CS and OSX 10.3.2
It works on my computer with the above software. I know that on my old PC, there were some problems with the version of PM that I had and PS 7.
Hope you figure it out! |

| ->> I'm trying the CS Trial version and opening multiple images works for me however I find that its taking much longer for the Adobe Raw Plugin to open. Sometimes as long as a minute. Multiple jpegs open normally. |

->> Thad/Mike: Well I'm using 3.2.2 so that may be the problem.
They were going to charge me $150 to upgrade to 3.2.7 and I didn't think it was worth it (I was past my 1-year mark).
I'll just wait for 4.0 to come out and get it then. |

->> You need PM 3.2.7 for Panther and PhotoShop CS. It will not work right with earlier versions. Rumor has it that v4 for the Mac will be out in early February.
Mike. I don't know if it is the trial version or not but I shoot RAW and it is fast for me. OS 10.3.1 |

->> I think the trouble is PM3.2.6 (or lower) and Photoshop CS (I'm not sure Panther is the problems in this issue). I remember sitting in a Marriott in Naples, FL a few months ago and having the same problem Peyton described...I called CameraBits and upgraded on the phone...and it worked. I had not yet upgraded to Panther...
Subsequently I have upgraded to Panther and have had no issues with PS or PM.

- Will wait for version 4.
Thanks to all for your input. Having no problem with the Raw Files. |

->> Neil, I would recommend upgrading now. The price you pay covers free upgrades for one year.
While PM v4 should be out in a couple of weeks, predicting when a product will be ready for shipping can be a tricky thing and most products ship later than is promised. I for one want it right, not fast, and don't mind waiting a little longer.
IBM just came out with a new G5 software compiler which is supposed to offer a 30%+ improvement over the non optimized compiler. I don't know if waiting for the final version of this compiler has anything to do with the delay. |
