->> my D2 will finally be here on Wednesday, so I was wodering if anyone could dhelp me with this simple two-part question...
What is the camera's buffer when shooting raw images and how long does it take to write (compared to D1x or H)
When shooting RAW, is there anyway to put cutline info in when downloading via Photo Mechanic.
Thanks |

->> I can't answer the question about cutline info, it lets you tag an image with an image memo, but I don't think you'll find that too useful.
As for the Buffer - 25 is the number with raw. How fast it writes will depend on the speed of your card, but even my old 12x lexars seem to write in less then a second on RAW. The camera writes faster then any digital SLR made today. |

->> Super, thats what I was looking for.
I prefer to shoot RAW (most of the time) but I never do becasue it makes putting the caption in more difficult because I have to take the time write the cutline in PS, include all the copyright info/assignment info, then save a jpeg version for archiving that has the cutline AND a tif for publication... When your doing sometimes more than 5 assignments per day it's just takes too long. It would be a lot easier to be able to include the cutline info in the RAW image and archive that instead of the jpeg.
By the way, I'll be using 40x cards. |
