FotoStation 4.5

->> I was recently working with a client that uses FotoStation 4.5. For some reason FotoStation 4.5 was unable to read the IPTC info in the JPEG Header.

I read on the fotoware website that FotoStation can read/write the JPEG header fields and shouldn't have problems reading captions written in Photoshop.

The client couldn't read the caption info all (all the fields were blank)

Captions were written in photoshop 6.0 and I've never had an issue before.

Anyone out there familiar with any incompatibility issues with FotoStation 4.5, and more importantly any fixes?

Thanks

->> Thanks,

The problem is intermittent.

Which only makes me think its Fotostation and not an image issue.

Thanks.

->> Chris,

We've been using Fotostation for about three years without any real problems...the odd crash but nothing major....the only time I've seen captions drop off is when someone has opened the file off a removable media and altered the caption. For some reason it doesn't save it back to the CF card or whatever....

->> I use FotoStation daily, in conjunction with Photo Mechanic v2.x, Photoshop v4.0.1 and Photoshop v6.0, no problems ever.

I use FotoStation on both Win 2000 and Mac O/S 9.2.2.

I do have problems with the IPTC heads when using Photoshop v7.x and any non-Adobe software.

->> Chris,

Are you/they using FotoStation PRO? What build (version) are you/they using? Does this only happen with this client? Are you musing a Windows or Mac OS?

Currently you WILL have problems with IPTC info in FotoStation if using Photoshop 7.0.
