| ->> When I shoot events for clients, I send them CDs with the final take. The one problem that I have is that while I look at everything in Photo Mechanic, most people have never heard of an image browsing program, and are stuck opening my photos one by one. I know with the photos on disc you get from Kodak they give you some sort of program, but I've never used it. Anybody out there have any experience on free or shareware easy-to-use image programs that can be bundled with CDs of photos? |

->> Evan:
FotoStation (www.fotostation.com) now has a program for registered users, which allows you to burn our CD essentially in FotoStation. When your client pops in the CD (you can burn Mac & PC) the images load in photo station on their screen.
Great for editing
(as for me, I have loaded Photo Mechanic...and paid for the license to do so, into seven of my clients computers so we are all on the same system) |

->> IViewMedia PRO has created a "reader" application for Macs and Windows...you create the catalog ( on a Mac for now...Windows due soon) and you can distribute a "reader" application (free of charge) that will allow your clients to "read" the catalog you create.

->> Another option:
Under "Automate" in PS, there is a function to create a web gallery ... not the greatest in the world but does the job. Saves pages of thumbnails which can be enlarged to a specified size. If you can code, you can change the entire page setup to your desired specs.
Saved as an HTML document, your gallery can be viewed by everyone.

P.S. -- you can save cutline info with the images as well. |

| ->> I would use the automated action in PS and create a "web" on the CD. Simply setup the AUTORUN.INF to start the index.html and they have a great little browser. You can customize it to your liking. |

->> As a matter of fact, YES!!
Happens more when I urinate, though.
Should I see a doctor about that?

->> Your ears burn when you urinate?!? Yes, I'd say that's a problem!! : D
I agree with the Web Gallery, idea... makes them viewable on any computer, and it's also handy to post them online, which is what I generally do!
I found a Freeware Program called Gallery Generator, and now use it all the time. Gives you quite a bit more control over the specs of your pages than photoshop does, and you don't have to code anything. |

| ->> iView multimedia can make an HTML thumbnail gallery so anyone with a browser can view the gallery, then click on a thumbnail to see a larger preview. iView will also allow caption info, filenames or other info to be displayed. |

->> I saw, at photoplus expo, the presentation on PS / CS. The new Web Gallery not only allows you to save specific notes under each thumbnail but clients can now comment and return via email by simply selecting your image.
Very cool. I was going to hold of getting CS but ordered mine today. |
