->> Jr,
Crack open the piggybank and buy PhotoMechanic. It's well worth the money. You might check to see if they have a Student discount program.
If you have PS7 you can use the browse function. However it's pretty slow. PhotoMechanic rocks!

->> Jr,
We have both Photo Mechanic and iView Media Pro at the studio and both have their places. I only wish PhotoMechanic would let you have multiple zoom levels like iView. The money you spend will be made up in saved time. |

->> Back when I was in college the student newspaper did get an educational discount on PhotoMechanic. I believe we got around $25 off.
PhotoMechanic v4 for Mac is due out at the end of the year! |

->> Without knowing exactly what you intend to do with it (browse JPEGs or RAW, rotate, convert, caption, etc), I'd say the best $30 you could spend (at least for browsing JPEGs) would be on GraphicConverter (http://www.lemkesoft.de/en/graphcon.htm). The program's been around forever and continues to be upgraded. The developer (Thorsten) is very responsive to bug reports and feature requests, and IMO he deserves the business simply for not diluting his development efforts by splitting time between a Mac and a Windoze version.
