| ->> Hi All. I've been using Epson ink jet printers (up to 13") for 20 years. The print quality is very good but they only last 3-5 years. Does anyone know if Canon or another brand might be better? Print quality is priority over longevity. Thank you! |

| ->> I just wanted to close out this thread by saying I bought the Canon Pro-1000. A wonderful SS member emailed me with great advise. He explained to me that while the Pro-1000 cost more initially, you make that up in ink cost over time. He worked it out to the penny. Super helpful. Thank you! |

->> I was going to write that the only ink jet printer I was happy with was from Canon. I had several other brands, all of which developed problems, probably because I didn't use them enough. The Canon eventually dried up too, but instead of replacing it, I bought a Canon B&W laser printer.
I don't know what to suggest here - I'd like to be able to print in color, but I don't do it that often, and the inks dry out, along with other components. Sometimes I (used to) make trips of three or four months, and when I returned, the ink jet printers weren't working. I can't afford a color laser jet printer, unless those costs have come way down.
I will check out the Pro-1000. I'm not sure if I'll ever want to buy one again, but I'm curious if it can be put "in storage" and then brought out for use when needed. |
