->> Over the past two weeks I joined a few gazillion people watching the Olympics on TV. I couldn't help but notice when they showed some of the photographers in the background, with their camera gear. On TV, I got to see mostly video, but on my computer I saw a huge number of still photos, such as this link from this morning:
https://www.nytimes.com/live/2021/08/03/sports/gymnastics-olympics-biles-be...®i_id=96868831&segment_id=65198&te=1&user_id=bd5f0a42c9391479017d664c2a498bf3#simone-biles-beam-routine
I wonder if anyone from SportsShooter.com is over there now taking these photos. I'm impressed with how excellent the photos are, taken at the perfect time. Maybe some of them grew up on Sportsshooter.com, and have moved on.
If anyone has time, I've got one question I'd like to ask - whether the photographers are all using high-speed drives, then picking "the best" images, or if they are talented enough to just take the perfect image at the perfect moment. The first way seems safer, but the second way might help get the "perfect image".
(I'm not going to even ask another thing I'm wondering about, how the photographers feel about being there during the pandemic, and how many preferred to stay safely at home.) |
