->> Anyone get this camera? I'm intrigued, but the AF doesn't seem great for sports... |

->> If I were going to choose, I'd pick the Z6 since the specs (which is all the information available until the camera ships in late November... And assuming it's released on time, of course!) appear to give it a higher frames per second rate over the Z7, among other specs that make it appear to be more focused on action shooting and faster buffering/capture than the Z7. Taking a wait and see attitude on both these bodies.
No matter what Nikon marketing claims, one thing they aren't is the "Reinvention" of the mirrorless camera... |

->> I have a Nikon Z7 and am waiting for the delivery of a Z6 when it is released in a little over a month.
So far I've used the Z7 for a couple of portrait shoots, a few video assignments and several innings of game 3 of the NLCS.
And I am very impressed. The files are unbelievable ... think D850 level. I felt the AF was just as good as the D850...
I'll post more when I shoot a few more assignments with The Z. |

->> I've got a Z6 with a 24-70/4 S and FTZ on pre-order. I plan on using it as my 3rd body for football and will try it on basketball, the former not being too taxing, but welcome the lighter weight and smaller footprint. Of course, I'll mount my 400 on it and see how it goes.
Brad Hill has a wildlife based blog, but he's written a lot of objective articles on Nikon gear and he's given the Z7 a pretty encouraging review - enough so I'm not worried too much about the AF. I'm not expecting it to blow away my D5s, but I'm going to see for myself how it goes. |

->> I've been using the Z7 for about 3 weeks and it has been everything I expected and more.
Handling is extremely comfortable ... it's not just the weight (or lack of) but the fit in my hands.
If you shoot video, you will be very impressed. The image quality is wonderful and the full-time auto-focus is quick and accurate. It was a joy to take just a Z7, a mic kit and a self-standing monopod on a video and still shoot the other day. |
