Tethering to external hard drive?

->> I have scoured Google search results, but can't find an answer. Is it possible to tether directly to an external hard drive or have images from a PC automatically flow into an external HD? I am trying to setup two viewing stations for an event this winter, but the only way I can get the images to show on multiple computers is to have the viewing stations read from a common "hot folder." As all images must come from one tethered camera. I'm using Darkroom Core as my event software. Any info or alternate methods I haven't considered would be appreciated. |

->> Not sure if I understand your question fully, but you can tether and save files to multiple locations via PhotoMechanic |

->> Ditto on Photo Mechanic. PM allows you to choose multiple destinations when ingesting or doing a live tether -- your main folder and a backup. You can set up your external HD as either. Plus, PM can add a premade caption/metadata template as the photos come in.
Here are the instructions from Camerabits. Scroll halfway down for the live ingest.

->> Thank you for the help, this is exactly what I was looking for. I've never used PM (one of few on this site), but it looks simple enough and solves my issue. Thanks again! |
