->> Can anyone out there give me a plan B for a repair facility that might take a look at a Canon 300mm f2.8 IS-USM bought in 2005?
The focus is not tracking consistently.
Canon repair is saying they no longer have parts and sent it back to us. |

->> Killer Service. My go to for older lens work. If they don't have it, will be hard to find the part.

| ->> Plus one for Midstate. You might call them first. They can be a bit abrupt on the phone but they are busy, there's only two of them fixing stuff, taking stuff in at the front door and answering the phone. But if anyone can fix old stuff it's them. |

| ->> We used to use this guy when he was located in the Bay Area (Hayward I think) - he was in Reno and now in North Dakota, but he has recently fixed a few Canon lenses that Canon will no longer fix from people in the Bay Area... http://www.cameraclinicusa.com/about/ |

| ->> A couple of years ago KEH fixed a Canon 300 F/4, non IS for me. That is the lens that preceded the 300 F/4 IS. The focus mechanism was not working. They fixed it quickly and the price was reasonable. I was worried that this really old, but lightweight, sharp and useful lens was dead. |
