| ->> The above mentioned companies, which cover gymnastics in the lower New England area are not paying their photographers. I have three friends who have shot for this guy, Ron Cournoyer, and he owes them for events going back to the beginning of the year. They have retained an attorney to get their money. He, Cournoyer, is listed as the official media provider for the Rhode Island Invitational Meet. I would strogly suggest not working for him. |

->> Questions for your friends: Are they the copyright owners of their images or did they sign over ownership to company? If they own copyright, did they "register" their pix with the copyright office? (If so, they have huge clout in the courts.) Whose contract did they sign? Theirs or company's? And is there a clause in it that says "no rights are granted until payment is made in full"? (If so, they have huge clout in the courts.)
And can you get a copy of the contract to share so the rest of us can see what it says?
If the images are registered and there is a no rights until paid clause then your friends can go after the recipients of the imagery for payment via infringement and penalties. |

| ->> I've photographer gymnastics in New England and nationally, both club level and elite, for 15 years and have never heard of this guy or company. Thanks for the information. Most of these companies don't have a contract. |
