->> For many of you, you may not know or heard of photographer Lennox "Red" McLendon. He was an AP staff photographer in Los Angeles during the '70s and '80s, then in Las Vegas in the '90s. He passed away Tuesday night at age 74 from Parkinson's.
During his tenure with AP he covered Super Bowls, World Series, NBA Finals, Olympics, etc. in addition to regular season sports, Hollywood, news events, politics, catastrophes, etc. He was the definition of a wire service photographer.
His viewing is Nov. 1 and service Nov. 2 in Vegas. If any of you would like to attend please contact me and I'll send you the information. If you cannot but knew him and would like to share some memories and condolences, then email them to me at doug @ pizac dot com by next Tuesday and I'll hand deliver them to her. |
