Sports Shooter Academy co-founders Matt Brown and Robert Hanashiro have a challenge for you: Can you beat us ... covering a college football game? On 11-11-2018 Samy's Camera and the Sports Shooter Academy workshop will be holding the first in a series of fun popup events that will feature shooting an event or a panel discussion or a lecture series or a portfolio critique meetup or a look at some new, cool gear. On November 11 we will be conducting the Ultimate Sports Shooter Academy Challenge where participants will get hands-on instruction on photographing football followed by covering the Orange Coast College - Saddleback College game. After the game Matt and Robert will provide one-on-one critiques, followed by an informal (no-host) dinner. Now here's the catch: What lens Matt and Bert use each quarter will be drawn out of a hat. So if Matt draws a 24-70mm zoom lens for the first quarter, that's the only lens he can use for that quarter. Or if Bert draws a 600mm lens, that's it for him for the quarter. Each participant will submit up to 4 images each and they will be posted on the Samy's Camera Facebook page where the public will vote for their favorite images. The Ultimate Challenge participant with the most votes will receive a cool bag from Think Tank Photo! The cost to register is just $25 ... and when you check in for the pre-game instruction session you will receive a $25 giift card from Samy's Camera! How cool is that!
