->> Curious as to what everyone is using these days for a laptop shade, I see that Hoodman isn't making their version anymore and the Griffgear site appears to be down. The Think Tank one just seems to be too big to use for our workstations at PNC Park for MLB games. Open to any suggestions
Thanks |

| ->> Cardboard box. Seriously. I get one from Costco or other place that fits my laptop and is deep, then spray the inside flat black. It folds flat for toting around and is very cheap to replace. Plus, nobody steals it. |

| ->> Yes, the Ikea box works. However, keep in mind that if you don't have any room on the sides you'll have to cut access holes in the fabric. That's what a friend of mine had to do in order to get to the ports for his card reader and external drive. And the tight fit may cause discomfort at the wrists as you wedge your hands inside for an extended period of time. |

| ->> GriffGear shades are the absolute best that I've used. Very compact and effective. He doesn't seem to be making them anymore sadly. |

->> There's also the Digi Shade: https://www.adorama.com/ivlmsmacr15.html
It does what it's supposed to do, and attaches very quickly and firmly to a MBP. However, in bright mid-day sun, it's not going to work miracles, but neither will a Ikea shade. I haven't tried the ThinkTank model, but I've seen one and it's really tall and obtrusive. I'd also be curious to know how it works on a windy day. |

| ->> Thanks everyone, I went with the Think Tank one right now. I'm going to see how it works in our cramped workstations at the ballpark. Hopefully some day TT make a smaller version, I mentioned it to them on twitter and they said they would look into it |

| ->> Justin, I have used to Think Tank V1 for years. If you are not using a chill plate under the laptop, get for pop bottle caps and place them under the unit so it can breathe a little bit. Power cords and printer cables can run thru the openings in the corners. I also leave mine in the laptop case when traveling, it adds another layer of protection for the computer. |
