->> Try TF Camera Repair Service in East Brunswick N.J. Toshio Fuji Shima is a former CPS repair tech and has a good parts inventory. (732) 238-8806. |

->> Midstate Camera Repair in Warwick RI. They stock pile parts for certain lenses and have been known to bring gear back from the dead. |

->> TF Camera is great, especially when you need those parts. Toshi seems to have a way of finding things that others say do not exist. |

->> I used TF Camera Repair once many years ago. The service was good. More recently I had Midstate replace components at the rear of a 200 F/1.8 that had been dropped. They were able to fix what seemed impossible, but warned me never to do it again as they couldn't get the parts again. I would call them first. They can be a little rushed on the phone but you are talking to the the people doing the work. They are busy. |

->> Thanks to all for your replies. I am waiting for my lens to get back from KEH and have spoken with the folks at Mid State. Mark at MSCR is out of town till Tuesday, but I will be talking with him and he will tell me if I should spend the money to ship it to him. Should know more by end of next week.....still hopeful. |

->> Early on, I spoke with CPS and they told me that even though the lens is still on the repair list, it is not supported, However, I have a friend whose lens was hit by a foul ball and is basically in the same shape as mine and he emailed CPS and they told him they still supported it! It is the same lens I have. So, I think I will send it to CPS since it doesn't cost anything. At least it would be a second opinion and would let me know what I need to do next. |

->> I had a similar issue with this lens a few years back. Canon wouldn't touch it and tried three shops for the parts before I gave up.
Ended up with another one two years ago and starting to have issues with it now (unless it's just me LOL) so I'm at the point of seeing who can look at it or if it's in its end stage. Thankfully it's summer so I have a good month or so now to figure something out.
The perks of having old glass I guess :( |

->> UPDATE: After CPS telling me the lens is "still on the list of supported repairs, but we no longer service it, because it's 'out of service life'" A friend sent his in, in the same shape as mine and they repaired it! So, I boxed mine up, sent it to CPS and received word today that for $438, it will be headed home tomorrow! Seems to have been some communication issues on the front end, but, Best news I've heard in a while! |
