Good News: I was able to complete a full back-up. Best News: No Info was lost. Thank you, MacBook, for being simple enough for a grunt like me to save my professional life. THE PROBLEM: After reinstalling, I cannot get PhotoMechanic to transmit to FTP addresses. FTP destinations were loaded as before and PM will send to Photoshelter, just not FTP addresses.
