->> Maybe you haven't seen a 285lb. player demolish a photographer on the sidelines. If that happens with that set up, big time disaster. |

->> Child endangerment? Maybe! I would not let my wife on a sideline with my two kids strapped to her. I think what's going on here is entitlement. If her husband wasn't a coach chances are she wouldn't be anywhere near that sideline. Not to mention liability issues. I was hit two weeks ago by a player I don't remember getting hit. Snapped my Gitzo monopod in half, doctor drained 40cc of blood from my knee and a sprained MCL. I'm rehabing now! Heaven forbid if this lady got hit the way I did. |

->> "My children are my priority; whatever I have to do [I do] to make sure they're well taken care of."
I know it is HS football, but one errant pass or a frosh 3rd stringer running out of the box to follow a big kick off return and you could be sorry for the rest of your life. Call a sitter or get a cheer mom to watch the kids. This is not take your kid to work day. This is football with all of the ensuing dangers. Not cool Mommy.
And the school district allows this??? |

->> Even though I do not have any children, as a female sports photographer, I could NOT see myself endangering a helpless child based on someone else’s actions during a sporting event. It is hard enough to get out of the way on my own keeping my gear safe and in one piece. Too many things come into play here, let alone insurance liability. I woul error on the safe side and get somebody to watch the child somewhere out of harms way for a few hours just to play it safe. That is putting the child first! How many times have you had to turn down a job because of family responsibility? Why do people feel so entitled just because they have a long lens (or smart phone) and a "credential" these days.... uggggg |

Hey Mike .... didn't you tell me 10 years ago that the first thing you learn in the Masters program is that "you can't fix stupid!" |

->> It hurts my back just to look at that photo. Kudos to her for being in shape enough to carry a child and run up and down the field. However, the sidelines of a football game is no place for a child. Sometimes you have to move fast, and having a child at your side or on your back would make that difficult. I have been hit twice; once at a college game and once at a high school game. My gear was a hindrance to getting out of the way; a child would be more so. Sometimes the play is on top of you before you can get away--especially if the sideline is crowded. It isn't really a gender issue; it's a safety issue. |
