->> Does anyone know of an app for OSX that has support for Kodak DCS 520 files? I don't use OS9 at all anymore and I have an entire summer's worth of files that I need to go through for CPOY. I have to figure this out soon, otherwise I'm gonna need a truck load of candy!! : ) Thanks for any help!
Take Care

| ->> i hate photodesk. I've found it to be real slow and cumbersome (like most things kodak, including the dcs 520). i just use photomechanic in classic. my 2 cents. |

->> Sean:
You know Photo Mechanic v3.2.5 (v3.x) works just fine in OS X.
I love it (wish it had a spell checker like the Windows version).
Keep in mind the DCS520 is very very fast when compared to the AP NC2000c/e |

->> the new photodesk works great on my G4 powerbook (667 mhz).
Yes, the older versions were slow, but the new on works quite well. And it's free. |

| ->> Mike's right -- the new version of PhotoDesk (3.0.1 or so) is much, much faster than the older versions. I use PhotoDesk for my backup DCS 520 because importing into Photoshop became a nightmare after installing Adobe Camera RAW. If you were disappointed with PhotoDesk in the past because of speed, download the new version and you will be pleasantly surprised. |

->> Steven:
But photomechanic 3 doesn't have the same DCS RAW support that 2 does, right? And yes, I know that the 520 is a HUGE improvement over the DCS 3. Haha, ever used a DCS 3 at ISO 1250? It's the most fun you'll EVER have playing connect the dots.
But I'll go to Kodak's site and try photodesk out... We'll see how it works on my iBook, and if it's faster than photomechanic. |

| ->> Yeah, well, photodesk 3.2: slow on an iBook... and as i'm writing this, it 'unexpectedly quit'. |
