->> On that note, I may just sell my plus ii's, keep my multimaxes and add a few of these bad boys.
Thanks for the link Jason! |

| ->> Hats off to PW for keeping everything compatible. I can use my 1 year old Mini TT1 to trigger my (at least) 15 year old round dial 16-channel receiver and everything in between. Even though the used value of pretty much every PW gadget I own just got cut in half with this announcement, PW rocks. |

| ->> From what I've been able to find, they don't support delayed triggering on these new PocketWizards. They do however, allow easy relaying. Would it be possible, or feasible, to set up a system where relaying is used at an arena for basketball remotes sync'd with strobes, ala Robert Beck's article here on SS, but without the delay? |

| ->> I had seen it demonstrated before, I was just unsure if there would be any disadvantages to triggering a camera, with a camera, and having both synced to strobes. The delay is what I'm worried about. |

->> Mark,
"triggering a camera, with a camera, and having both synced to strobes" is not possible with the relay mode. You would have to equalize both cameras together to get them both to sync together with strobes. The Plus III's do not have the equalize feature.
You could trigger multiple remote cameras of the same make and model, and using similar lenses and exposure, using the relay mode on one of the remote's unit. All remotes will need to have very similar lag times and that is where you will need similar equipment and exposures. |

| ->> Sigh. Ok, well, looks like I'm still buying more Multimaxes for now then. Maybe 3 or 4 Plus III's because they still seem like useful and easy to use. Plug-and-play. |

->> I really like the smaller size and the battery indicator. I sold my multimaxes when I first got wind of these.
I also am glad PW continues to make them backward compatible, I really like my sekonic meter with PW. |

Can these programmed with custom channels? |

->> Jeff,
LPA is not currently installing custom ID's in the Plus III's, but I expect this to change in the near future as demand increases, and it will. |

| ->> Anyone know if the PW III is available yet? I've checked online but most say backordered, I've seen 2 that say in stock but when I call, they said they will have them "soon". The PW website shows available April 9, 2012. |

->> I've got a set of them right now. Kinda strange that they go on sideways, so the LCD and buttons face to the left of the camera.
I've shot 4 jobs with them and haven't had a misfire yet. But haven't done a range test - everything was within 25 feet or so.
I had no probably remotely firing a 5D Mark III or a 1D Mark III.
Anyone have questions about their use? |
