->> Alex Garcia, a photojournalist from the Chicago Tribune always writes a good blog. The one this week "You Know You're a Photojournalist When..." was great!
http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com/assignment-chicago/2011/09/you-know-you...
His #7 was "You accumulate press passes in your home from various events you’ve been fortunate to attend"
That got some of us Sportsshooter members talking about the collection of press passes we've saved over the years wether it's from Super Bowls, Olympics, high school sports or those type of assignments where you get a press pass and wonder why the hell you need it in the 1st place?
Many of us have a place in our home with lots of lanyards full of those press passes so I thought it would be cool to start a group & share with each other "Our Press Pass Walls". Must be some great memories, trips & events we've all covered around the world or just around the corner.

Hope you'll take some time to check it out, post your wall of press passes, share a story or two behind them & even tell us if you have to keep only ONE press pass & throw the rest away which credential would you keep & why, which one means the most to you??

->> I am in the process of selecting some photographs from my archive to print, mat, and frame with the credential from that event to hang in my home office. It will be weeks if not months before I actually get around to doing this, probably, but it has been something that I have been thinking about doing for over a year now.
A framed collage of credentials is another possibility. |

->> Very cool Michael, hope when you get it all hung you'll shoot it and put on the page.
Robert Deutsch from USA Today just posted a picture on that page of an amazing collection of pins given out to the media at many events. I can't even begin to count how many are on there but it's impressive to look at

->> I just have mine chucked in a bag too: A couple of grocery shopping bags, not very sentimental. One of these years I'm going to gather my collection of Indy 500 pins (12 or 13) and hawk them on Ebay if I think I can get some scratch for them.
Anybody hawk your trinkets? |

->> I've never hawked any of them but at the end of a couple of Super Bowls when we were the last ones out I "found" a Photographers Work Area sign with the Super Bowl logo all over it and it somehow ended up in my hands :-)
Seems like many photographers that have joined the page already have lots of credentials, pins etc in bags and boxes like you and George but nothing on walls. Maybe the page will get some of us to start organizing our prized credentials.
I plan on redoing mine sometime this fall and I'll be adding my 2011 World Series pin and credential from the Tigers v Phillies series and then the Lions v Patriots from the Super Bowl in February. LOL!!

| ->> I'm in the process of building a bar top which will display all of my credentials in the new man cave. I figure they'll look great situated among around a great big Steelers emblem. Only problem is I have to figure out how to engineer it so I can take it with me when I sell the house. |

| ->> I joined the group to see what others do with there credentials. I usually display mine on the passenger's side floor of my car for a few months. Then I clean out the car and start a brand new display. |

->> Several years ago, I bought a 16x20 and framed several of my credentials dating back to the 1980s... I now have 2 and more that hang on lanyards and in boxes that I care to count...
Drives my wife nuts ! |

| ->> Back when my office was in the basement, I used my passes as the curtains in front of the small windows. The only problem was that very little light came through the windows after this many years collecting them. |

->> In my almost 20 years of shooting, I have never thrown out a press credential issued to me. I always thought that it was a really great way to remember all the adventures that this amazing job would bring me to.
I have most of the passes stored in these box frames (great for the ones on the front of the glass, not great for the passes in the back.
One of the coolest credential displays I saw out in LA, at the office of Wire Image. They had this big, clear cube end table. Inside were hundreds of entertainment credentials (Oscars, Concerts, Emmy's, MTV events, etc). Nice thing was that you could always shake it up or rotate the cube so you could see more of the passes... |

->> Using your passes as curtains Eric is brillant!
Chuck I hope you'll add a picture of your Final Four pins. My wife lets me have 1 wall for that stuff but soon (she doesn't know it yet) I'm turning that basement into my "man cave" for poker games and Cuban cigars LOL! |
