| ->> Yes, it's somewhat off topic here, but if anyone is shooting portraits/modeling would you share what you're using for software (if any) and your opinions (good and bad) of it? |

->> If you could narrow down what kind of software you mean... Beyond Photoshop, I assume...
I use:
Capture One for RAW processing,
Bridge for file management
various NIK, Topaz and OnOne plugins... |

| ->> I use Imaginomic portraiture for retouching as well as Imaginomic noiseware. I think it works better than any other programs I have tried. I works from a mask on certain colors so it is very easy to select just the skin. I think they offer a trial also. |

->> I'm right there with Michael. Edit down my picks in PhotoMechanic and then process the photos in Photoshop.
I imagine it's a result of the news photographer in me.

->> I shoot a huge variety of stuff and have found that the more I can keep my workflow the same (PM/PS) the happier I am. There are a lot of portrait folks using Lightroom , but it just slows me down.
I do use Portraiture (it's a must have for me) for softening and also use quite a bit of this guy's (disclaimer, he's a buddy, and he has a HUGE sale going on right now) stuff for textures, templates, and several actions...

->> Are you talking software to process one sitting or thousands? I was using schooldays+ and just switched to Quix by photolynx. Both are expensive software, but keep in mind I photograph thousands of portraits a year.
here is a link that may give you some solutions.

| ->> Lightroom for cataloging and as much RAW processing as may be needed completed there, on to PSCS5 for anything that Lr can't handle like extreme blemishes or Rosacea ... only PS plugin I use for portraits is PK Sharpener as needed ... |

| ->> This would be for roughly a dozen a month and print sales. I use LR to ingest and catalog and finish in PS currently with nik dfine & sharpener pro. I'll be looking in to what's been offered up here and thanks for the info everyone here has given too :) |

2) Photoshop for any image manipulation (including RAW processing
3) onOne's Perfect Photo Suite for all the tricks and treats, it works from within Photoshop as a series of plug-ins. |

->> The new version of onOne's Perfect Photo Site (version 6, available late October) will have a module specifically designed for easy portrait retouching. I've been very happy with the package.
They have an earlier version available as a free download (http://www.ononesoftware.com/products/) so you can get an idea of what it can do. |
