->> I've used two different SD in CF adapters. One was SD only (not SDHC support) and it shot full-speed but was worthless as far as capacity went. The 2nd adapter took SDHC cards but was slow as hell, no way could it be used for video.
Visit Amazon.com, do a search for the adapters, read the reviews. There are folks shooting video onto SDHC cards in CF adapters. Like Chuck said it depends on the adapter. Make sure the place you buy from will give you a refund if it doesn't work for you. That's what I did with my SDHC-CF adapter, Amazon gave me a full refund. |

| ->> I'm just curious...decent cards (CF and SD) are so cheap now, why would you need an adapter? |

->> I can speak to this...
The new Macbook Pros have a SD slot. If you want to streamline a workflow for fluid situations (i.e. not have to card a CF reader) it is nice to have the adapter. I tried this when shooting the Cal Ripken World Series a few weeks ago.
The Pro: I could just pop out the card and ingest while shooting without worrying about a CF reader becoming disconnected.
The Con: HORRIBLE WRITE SPEED. The buffer sucked.
It was a nice experiment, but if you think you will be cutting into your bufer, especially RAW - forget it. In theory it is a nice workaround, but in practical application it falls a little short. |

->> Oh, and I will get this backward I am sure...
The adapters I got were Type 1, not Type 2, so they wouldn't work in my D700. So, if you go the adapter route, make sure the adapter will fit into your camera. It might be the other way around, but either way, it didn't fit. |
