I know F1 isn't considered a major sport in the US, but...

(Or perhaps they just relied on an incorrect original caption?)

Not surprising considering the most popular racing series in the country refuses to race in the rain, even though they boast to have the best drivers in the world! |

Photo #12 is just insane. |

->> For the record:
I just checked Suki's original caption on the EPA wire and it is professionally written, 100% accurate, written to EPA style, mentions nothing about smoke and doesn't have a single question mark anywhere. Suki did his job as a responsible journalist and wrote a perfect cutline for the image.
As many of us know, the caption that appears under the photo on the SI link has clearly been changed by whomever created the gallery... happens all the time unfortunately. |

Hell Chuck, you should see what I've done to some of your cutlines I've pulled off MCT over the years. |

| ->> I'm not a frequent reader of SI or SI.com (yeah, I know -- blasphemy). The captions in the linked gallery in this thread are, for the most part, " cutesy" (as Chuck noted with his "not really" post). The captions in the magazine, the last time I saw them, were clever -- intellectually funny. Is this more "dumbing down" of content, as mentioned in the Larry Price story (another thread here)? |

->> Will... thanks for the correction. I just glanced at the image and thought it was Vettel's teammate.
Did anyone see the Isle of Man TT races on HD TV last week. Sick. 175 mph down the straights and 142 mph average speed over a 34 mile loop on the island. Absolutely incredible. |
