To Tilt or Not to Tilt

->> I meant to make a thread about this last week, but got way busy.
I was very intrigued by the last newsletter about tilting in photos and I was in Indianapolis over the weekend shooting MotoGP and a few of us photogs had a nice discussion on the matter.
I argued that like any other photography technique or composition, if you're using it all the time, it's not good. Variety is key in shooting.
My second point was that if it takes away the integrity of the scene, it's not ok. Meaning that if the viewer might mistake it for being actually tilted than it's no good. If, however, it is obvious that the photo is tilted, I think it's ok.
Granted we were talking about it in respects to racing photography, and some stuff does lend itself to tilting more. For example, I wouldn't consider it during a press conference, etc.
Thoughts?

Also, here's some of my tilted and non-tilted photos from the weekend: http://www.montereycountyweekly.com/photos/galleries/2011-red-bull-indianap.../ |

| ->> My initial thoughts are that I think it's funny that there were five separate articles written about tilting. |
