Freelance film/commercial set photography

->> Who's done this freelance, still photography of stuff like film productions and for TV commercials, that sort of thing. I've shot this type of thing plenty of times, but for the newspapers I've worked for. I'm thinking of pursuing this for some extra freelance cash.
What is the typical structure regarding usage rights, expectations, and compensation? Any advice here, or through email, would be appreciated!

->> If the film or commercial is unionized you will likely need to be a part of the union, otherwise the producers will have to get a permit for you, etc.

In most cases with cinema/TV/commercials, you are hired as an employee of the production and your work-for-hire is owned by the production.
