->> I just purchased a Mac book pro 2.2 with 4 gig of ram and I loaded the new lion update on it. I am in a delima about photoshop. I can't afford to buy a new full version of cs5 so I am thinking of purchasing photoshop 7 and then buying an upgrade. Does anyone know if this will work????

->> Marvin, Photoshop 7 will not run under Lion and CS3 is the oldest version of Photoshop that will (however I don't think you actually need the old version installed when you purchase an upgrade).

That said, you cannot use PS7 to upgrade to Photoshop CS 5.5 (the current version). CS2 is the oldest version that will let you upgrade to current:

It'd be easiest to find a copy of Snow Leopard, there really aren't a lot (or really, any) things in Lion which I find necessary over it.
