->> Jim, great shots!
I know when we shoot sports many times we are struggling to get a high enough shutter speed. I'd imagine out there with the bright sun and reflective surface of the ground you were having the opposite problem. Did you need to use ND filters at all for this shoot? |

->> Thank you everyone. It was fun.
I try to write my blogs in a down to earth manner and not to get tripped up with trying to sound like some deep artist photo type. I am photojournalist and I am a punk.

And Bob, The only time I bumped off ISO 100 was before the sun came out. I didn't have a ND filter but at times I wish I had. I tried to shoot a lot in raw because the difference in highlight in shadow was so extreme at times.
Luckily Reuters shipped me out a 600mm F4 and I attached a 1.4 teleconverter to it for much of the action. So wide open for me was f5.6 which probably actually saved my ass quite a bit in terms of exposure and finding the focus on a car as it is screaming by.
The one downside of shooting with that set up is it felt like I was shooting through a straw at times and trying to follow a car was hard and damn near impossible to find it again if you lost it in the frame. |

->> Okay, so I have to ask ... what sunscreen SPF factor is recommended for genitals?
Personally, I'm looking for at least SPF 500. Something with the consistency of, say, concrete. |

->> Jeff,
I used SPF 100 on my arms and face and still got burned ... however, I believe you can use a combination of the SPF 100 and white gaffers tape to create a ultraviolet killing Death Star Dome of protection. |
