Tufting to write up a quote. Writer says budget will be out of his pocket as publisher is not footing the bill. First edition will be 10,000 copies and will be 3/4 to full page (interior) paperback trade size. I'm use to advertising rates but have never put one togethr for a book. I have a bunch of sports writer friends who have authored books through large and small publishers. Writers must pay for all inside photographs from his or her money, and the publisher pays for cover image. Very few writers are willing to pay much, especially if they are rookies and did not get a good advance. Of course- none of this is your problem.
