What would be the fastest CF sweetspot for a 1D mkIII?

->> How fast can this cam write to a card? At what point would buying a faster card not make a difference? I'm going to run some tests to see if any of my cards make a difference.
It's suppose to have a 110 jpg shot buffer (30 raw). Not sure I'm able to shoot continuous at 10 fps for 11 secs without hitting the lag.
Any thoughts? |

->> Thanks Kevin,
Looks like Rob only tested up to a 133x card assuming those were the fastest cards when that test was run. Would going above 133x create any benefit in camera? |

| ->> There are some Lexar Pro 300x CF cards listed on there which did write a little faster than Lexar 133x, (9.8mb/s vs. 10.4mb/s) |

->> Daniel, no not very much. That test should pretty much indicate the high end of the camera and he did test several cards faster than 133X (20 MB/s).
The Sandisk Extreme III 30 MB/s cards he tested topped out around 10 MB/s in camera, about the same as the faster Extreme IV cards in the test. And as George mentioned the Lexar 300x cards (a 45 MB/s rating) were about the same.
The fastest rated cards actually didn't test to be the fastest in the Mark III.
So once you hit those card speed ratings you probably won't see very much fluctuation with in-camera write speed because at this point the limiting factor is the camera itself, not the cards. Again where you do stand to see some benefit is when downloading to your computer, assuming you have a fast enough CF reader. |

| ->> Thanks Kevin. That sounds about right. Fast downloading is a definite plus. I bought the sandisk extreme cards about a month ago. I find them to be the same speed as my Transcend 400x cards (both cards are rated at 60mb/s). |
