SB-900 stuck in hot shoe

->> I somehow got my SB-900 stuck in the hot shoe of a D3s and can not get the flash to release. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Do you know of a way to fix it on your own or does it need to take a trip into get repaired? I think the locking pin somehow got stuck and won't disengage from the camera.

And yes I made sure the the lever is not in the locked position.

->> I had a similar thing happened to me but with a SB-600 on the small stand that comes with the flash. The locking lever went past its normal "lock" and "unlock" positions...I could spin it freely. I had to play with it but eventually I found a position in between the two where it would finally release.

I haven't got it fixed yet and am not sure if there is a DIY way or if I would have to have Nikon look at it. I use the flash as a remote and don't have to use the locking lever so I don't have motivation to get it fixed. Hope this helps.

->> I had this happen with an SB-24 on an N8008 once, the pin got bent and stuck. Had to send it in. Since tho, I believe Nikon has made that pin thicker as to not get bent.
