->> Bill Perlman gave me my first job in this business back in 1988. I literally showed up unannounced at the Red Bank, NJ Register (circ. 30,000+) one afternoon with a spiral bound portfolio of prints and a few freelance clips; each page laminated with a black felt backing. I was less than 2 years out of the Marines, and had been shooting family & baby portraits at one of those assembly-line, 70mm roll-film camera studios in the local mega-mall. We had lunch at a local pub in the area for my "interview" and the rest as they say, is history. In other words, it's all Bill's fault I'm still here and can't wait to get out of bed most days to go do what I truly love, and that's making good images and telling good stories...
Welcome aboard my friend,
~cg. |
