->> So, I have been assigned to shoot the ESPYs on Wednesday and am looking for advice for those who have shot this event before. I searched the message board, Google, and looked in the Guide but couldn't find anything. I never shoot red carpet events and this will probably be one of the few times I will be on a red carpet. I feel like such a NOOB asking these questions, but then again, I guess I am a NOOB when it comes to red carpet events.
I already found some good advice on the message boards about other red carpet events (i.e. Using a Straight Flash Bracket) but still have just a few simple questions more specifically related to the ESPYs. So, here it goes:
- WiFi: Available? Free? Costly?
- Dress: I know bigger events like the Academy Awards are black tie for press, but I am told the ESPYs are much more informal.
- Positioning: Good idea to bring a step ladder? Or is there plenty of room along the red carpet?
- Any other general advice for shooting red carpet?
I have to get the typical head shot, half shot, full shot stuff, but hopefully I can also find some of the more "photojournalistic" moments that I am used to capturing. Thanks in advance for any advice. |
