->> I sold my 400 2.8L early spring expecting this lens to be out early summer and did not want to wait until the market was flooded with them to sell. (it was still under warranty)
Now looks like many are holding above retail on hard to get items like the 300 2.8 IS and who knows when it will actually get here.
Thinking I made a mistake, but need to make sure before fall I have either version 1 or 2.
I am also not 100% sure I want to pick up a new version so close to football season with out it being out for a while. I also am not ready to spend that much more to save a little weight.
I have never watched the market when these big lenses are updated, should I pick up another 400 2.8L IS soon, or wait and see if the prices drop when the new version is released.
Besides not selling the 400 in the first place, any opinions. |

| ->> At 10,500 for new model the old will hold its value as it goes for 5000 to 5500 for it used. |

| ->> Thanks guys, not sure I want to spend an extra $2500 to get latest technology, might be better off putting that into a good used 300 2.8L IS at least for this year. |

| ->> My understanding is that not only is the new lens lighter, but it is MUCH sharper...fyi...Dan. |
