->> Can someone give me there thoughts/ experience with image recovery software? I lost Image Rescue when I had the logic board replaced on my MBP. The version that I had was Image Rescue think, which was complimentary. Anyone know if and how I can get another copy?

->> I've had excellent results with a program called PhotoRecovery. (http://www.lc-tech.com/software/prwindetail.html).

It manages to find things that Image Rescue and a couple of other cannot.

->> Thanks Jim. I've been fortunate not to have had to use it as of late. But I helped shoot an AAU Track & Field meet this past weekend and we lost some images that a parent wanted to purchase. Unfortunately, we didn't have any image recovery software.

->> Having only used Sandisk's RescuePro, I've had great experiences with it in the few times I've had to use it. Including recovering original raw files off of a formatted card.

->> Based on some recommendations in this thread I downloaded PhotoRescue tonight to try to recover files from a bad card.

After several anxious hours of letting the software scan the card, I got a preview of some pretty old images (many formats ago) but not the images from yesterday's assignment. My heart sank even further but I was somewhat encouraged to see that the software did recover so many old files.

So, I purchased a key code and continued with the recovery process and lo and behold, yesterday's files showed up 100% intact. The software created two folders on my computer... one was the complete DCIM folder from yesterday's shoot, and a second one called "Recovered Files" in the same directory that contained all the ancient stuff.

So, based on my experience I would suggest purchasing a key code even if you don't see your lost images on the preview from the free download... other than the lack of preview thumbnails from the most recent assignment, PhotoRescue worked great.

->> Actually I should revise that, I do see the original DCIM folder listed on the initial preview screen now... sorry I wasn't seeing straight at 3 a.m. Crisis averted

->> I have used Photorescue many times, however there have been a few occasions where it didn't recover all of the images. I purchased "Don't Panic-Photo edition" by Imagerecall on deadline one night, downloaded it and it saved my butt. Recovered the whole shoot in a mater of minutes and I made deadline. I can't give it any higher praise than that.
