Zach Ornitz, Photographer Syracuse | Ny | USA | Posted: 1:03 PM on 07.03.11 ->> Hello Photo Friends, Please pardon the interruption, but my business partner, Ollie Nieuwland-Zlotnicki and I, want to share some news that we think might interest you. Encouraged by the viral success of “A Tuckerman Tradition” http://vimeo.com/23461184, Ollie and I plan to produce another short documentary film that focuses on skiing culture. We are traveling to Chile in August to shoot the story of Toni & Anton Sponar, a father & son team and two lifelong Aspen Ski Co. instructors, who are attempting to establish their own destination backcountry ski operation, “El Arpa,” high in the Chilean Andes. Financed by the modest life-savings of a 77-year-old ski instructor and his 28-year-old son, the future of the operation is uncertain and any season could be their last... Ollie and I are compelled to tell stories that highlight the struggles and achievements of those who choose to dedicate their lives to their passion for outdoor pursuits. It is our goal to create a short film that we can enter into the outdoor film festival circuit.
