What do you do with you credentials?

->> Do any of you do anything creative with your credentials after credentialed assignment is completed?
I have saved pretty much all of mine from various assignments and trying to think of something cool to do with them.

| ->> I have often thought the same thing. Obviously some team/event credentials are more significant than others. Might be cool to make a collage of a bunch of credentials and frame it. Or make a print of your favorite image from an event and frame it along with the credential from the event. The UFC and NASCAR have some nice big photo passes that would work nicely for this. |

I plan on one day doing something like framing them but my ultimate would be have them laminated into a counter top for my bar/man cave that I hope to build in the future (key word here is hope). |

Besides, I guess I'd just rather look forward to what lies ahead.
That being said, Derek, I do like your Twitter background photo. |

->> I've kept all of mine over the years, but they're in boxes. I figured I would do something with them someday. A couple of them might even be worth something to a sports collector.
When I was a kid my friend's dad, who was a printer, made a really cool glass top coffee table filled with those old metal type letters, spelling stuff all backwards. I wish I had it now. I've always had that idea in the back of my mind for all my old credentials someday. |

Recently, I have been putting my decal photo credentials on the cover of my bank check book (which measures about 13.75 inches x 9.75 inches.) It just has the concerts of Elton John, Shakira, KISS, Arcade Fire and Blink 182. I should have kept some of the others, but didn't think of it earlier. |

Like the twitter background idea, may have to steal that as well as the christmas tree ornament idea.

I put the credentials in a shoe box (4 filled) along with the photo, sort of a time capsule for my daughter who'll be turning four in September.

I love the twitter background concept and will likely borrow that type of theme, I plan on doing some sort of display myself and (my future wife) will like it along with some of my favorite images framed for display sports and non sports. The credential display will be a great piece of memorabilia to pass down in the future. |

->> I'm definitely considering stealing Derek's twitter background idea, and James' bio page idea.
Right now I just give most of the fancier ones to my mother since she started saving them when I was a student. She keeps them, somewhere, in a book or something. I think she expects a print to go with each event. She has all but maybe two of the old credentials, which are missing in action, somewhere.
I don't give her the generic UCLA ones that they just stamp a date onto for non-revenue sports. I lost count of how many of those I had; despite throwing them out I still find them everywhere... |

->> Like Matthew and Derick I have nearly every cred I've been issued as most are contractual agreements and I treat them as such in case they may prove useful in a future dispute.
That said, one of my plans is to scan mine and use them to create lens hood wraps to dress up my long glass. Also, thought about using on the next set of rain covers I need to make for my lenses as well. |
