Especially you news organization staffers, any new numbers to report/amend?
Ours, in Indianapolis bumped up last month from .26 to .36. Possibly temporary, possibly not. |

| ->> At the Gannett papers in Northern Ohio it's only .27 I've been pushing like mad for an increase, especially since I can't make up the difference on my taxes like they always try to tell me I can. If the Star increased theirs then maybe this is a glimmer of hope of things to come. I still don't think I'll hold my breath tho. |

| ->> Ours (LCNI) is still $.37 per mile in Colorado. Fortunately gas prices have been falling steadily for about a month. Unfortunately that means the mileage will probably drop soon as well. |

->> 75miles/day x 250 days a year x $0.20/mile = $3,750... the amount you're subsidizing your paper and likely CANNOT get back on your taxes (like they try to say) because you don't make enough in the first place, 2% limit, etc..
Here is the full rundown:
http://www.irs.gov/publications/p529/ar02.html
Also of note, you should look into calculating the real cost of operating your car based on wear and tear, depreciation, etc... it may be higher. |

| ->> Come on folks. ADD miles. Make it work. DO NOT SUPPORT A MULTI-MILLION DOLLAR CORPORATION with even MORE weight on your back. And as much as I often disagree with PF...DO NOT SUBSIDIZE your paper...unless of course the Publisher of the paper has a) canceled his health club membership b)canceled his country club membership c) sold four of the five cars he owns...it's time we started fighting back and playing hardball with these assholes. |
